The majestic 3 stories high townhouse on Muzeum Körut No. 10 was built in 1870 by architect Ferenc Dötzer with generously-proportioned apartments for the wealthy upper-middle classes, surrounding two inner courtyards. Its proportions and facades were adapted to the magnificent neighbouring buildings – the neo-clas-sical Hungarian National Museum and the Humanities Faculty of Budapest’s Eöt-vös Loránd University. Inspired by this Genius Loci, the owner and interior de-signer of the apartment No. 7, Klara Szakall von Losoncz, wished to maintain the sophisticated elegance of the former spaces.
The quiet and most intimate ground-floor apartment is situated at the corner of the inner courtyard, viewing a large back-courtyard with a fountain and a tree. Its inner doors open to a 14 sqm private outdoor atrium with Mediterranean charm. Stylish sliding doors separate the dining area from the fully equipped kitchen.
